Warranty Conditions

Warranty for Refurbished Devices

At CellShark, we specialize in professionally refurbished smartphones and electronics. Every device undergoes a comprehensive inspection, testing process, and, where necessary, refurbishment by qualified technicians before being offered for sale.

Refurbished products provide an environmentally responsible alternative to purchasing new devices while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability. Please review the warranty conditions below carefully.

24-month warranty

All refurbished devices purchased from CellShark are covered by a 24-month warranty, commencing on the original date of purchase.

Battery warranty

The battery is covered by the same 24-month warranty period as the device, subject to the battery conditions below.

Accessory warranty

Accessories supplied with the device, including charging cables, adapters, SIM tools, and similar items, are covered for 6 months.

Warranty Period

Repair or Replacement During the Warranty Period

If a defect covered by this warranty arises during the warranty period, CellShark will, at its discretion, repair or replace the device free of charge.

Should a replacement device be provided, the original warranty period remains in effect and continues from the date of the initial purchase. A replacement device does not start a new warranty period.

The warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Any resale or transfer of ownership automatically terminates the warranty coverage.

Battery Warranty

Battery Health Standards

All refurbished devices sold by CellShark are supplied with a battery health of at least 85% at the time of sale.

If, during the warranty period, the battery capacity falls below 70% due to normal use and not as a result of accidental damage or misuse, CellShark will replace the battery free of charge.

Battery degradation resulting from excessive charging cycles, exposure to extreme temperatures, liquid damage, or unauthorized repairs is not covered under warranty.

What Is Covered

Covered Warranty Defects

This warranty covers defects resulting from manufacturing faults, refurbishment defects, or hardware failures occurring under normal consumer use.

  • Display or touchscreen malfunctions
  • Camera failures
  • Speaker or microphone defects
  • Charging port failures
  • Button malfunctions
  • Battery defects covered under the battery warranty
  • Internal hardware failures not caused by external damage

Where possible, CellShark will repair the device. If repair is not economically or technically feasible, an equivalent refurbished replacement device may be provided.

What Is Not Covered

Excluded Damage and Defects

  • Accidental drops, impacts, pressure damage, or physical abuse
  • Cracked or broken screens, glass panels, or device housing
  • Water, moisture, or liquid exposure of any kind
  • Fire, excessive heat, environmental damage, or natural disasters
  • Improper use, negligence, or failure to follow manufacturer guidelines
  • Normal cosmetic wear and tear, including scratches, dents, and discoloration
  • Damage caused by third-party accessories, chargers, cables, or batteries
  • Software issues, viruses, malware, unauthorized software modifications, or user-installed applications
  • Battery deterioration caused by misuse, excessive charging cycles, extreme temperatures, or liquid damage
  • Any defect or damage resulting from unauthorized repairs, modifications, or tampering
Unauthorized repairs

Repairs by Third Parties Void Warranty Coverage

Any warranty coverage will be immediately void if the device has been opened, repaired, modified, or serviced by any person or company other than CellShark or a repair partner explicitly authorized by CellShark.

  • Screen replacements performed by third parties
  • Battery replacements performed by third parties
  • Component-level repairs by independent repair shops
  • Unauthorized internal modifications
  • Removal or replacement of internal parts
  • Evidence of tampering with warranty seals or internal components

Devices that have been repaired or altered by unauthorized third parties are no longer eligible for warranty service, regardless of whether the reported defect is related to the third-party repair.

Face ID and Touch ID

Biometric Authentication Systems

Due to the complexity and security architecture of modern smartphones, CellShark cannot guarantee the continued functionality of biometric authentication systems such as Face ID and Touch ID.

While these features are tested whenever possible before sale, no warranty coverage is provided for failures relating exclusively to Face ID or Touch ID functionality.

Water and liquid damage

Water Resistance Is Not Guaranteed

Water and liquid damage are expressly excluded from warranty coverage. Although many devices are originally manufactured with water-resistance ratings, these ratings can diminish over time through normal use, repairs, aging, and component replacement.

For this reason, CellShark cannot guarantee any level of water resistance on refurbished devices, regardless of the manufacturer's original specifications. Any indication of liquid ingress will void warranty coverage for the affected repair claim.

Data and personal information

Back Up Your Data Before Service

Customers are solely responsible for backing up all personal data before sending a device for inspection, repair, or replacement.

CellShark shall not be held liable for the loss of data, applications, settings, contacts, photos, videos, or any other information stored on the device. In some cases, repair procedures may require the device to be reset to factory settings.

Warranty Claims Procedure

How to Submit a Warranty Claim

If you believe your device has developed a defect covered by warranty, please contact our support team at store@cellshark.nl. You may be asked to return the device for inspection.

For safe transport, we recommend packaging the device securely, using the original packaging whenever available, and sending the parcel via a tracked and insured shipping service.

The customer is responsible for shipping the device to CellShark. If the defect is confirmed as a valid warranty claim, repair or replacement will be carried out free of charge.

If inspection determines that the issue falls outside the warranty conditions, CellShark may provide a repair quotation before any work is undertaken.

Statutory consumer rights

Your Legal Rights Remain Fully Applicable

These warranty conditions are provided in addition to your rights under applicable consumer protection laws.

Nothing in this warranty policy limits or excludes any statutory rights to which consumers are entitled under Dutch or European Union legislation. Consumers retain all rights relating to product conformity and legal guarantees as provided by law.
