At CellShark, many of our refurbished devices are sold under the Dutch and European VAT Margin Scheme for second-hand goods.

This special tax scheme applies to pre-owned products that have previously been purchased from private individuals or sourced under margin regulations. Because VAT cannot be separately reclaimed on these products, the Margin Scheme allows refurbished devices to be offered at more attractive prices compared to products sold under the standard VAT system.

VAT and Invoices

How Margin Scheme Invoices Work

For products sold under the Margin Scheme, VAT is handled differently than under the regular VAT regime.

VAT is not separately stated on the invoice.
Business customers cannot reclaim VAT on these purchases.
The invoice will indicate that the product has been supplied under the VAT Margin Scheme.

In some cases, CellShark may also sell products under the regular VAT regime. Where applicable, this will be clearly indicated on the product page and invoice.
